Inter-School Chess, Yoga and Table Tennis Tournaments to Bring South Andaman Schools Together

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 11: Schools under the jurisdiction of the Deputy Education Office, South Andaman, will compete in inter-school Chess, Yoga and Table Tennis tournaments from September 15 to 22, 2026, with boys and girls taking part across different age and class categories.

The competitions will be held at the GSSS Girls School Hall, bringing students from various schools under the South Andaman education jurisdiction together for the scheduled events.

The Chess tournament will be conducted for students from Classes I to XII. The competition for Classes I to VIII will be held on September 16 for both boys and girls, while the Class IX to XII category will compete on September 17, also for both boys and girls.

The Yoga competition will cover students from Classes VI to X. Participants from Classes VI to VIII will compete on September 18, followed by the Class IX and X category on September 19. Both events will be conducted separately for boys and girls.

The Table Tennis tournament will be organised under the Under-16 category for students born in 2010 or later. The girls’ competition is scheduled for September 21, followed by the boys’ event on September 22.

The Deputy Education Office, South Andaman, has scheduled the competitions as part of its inter-school sporting programme, with students from schools under its jurisdiction participating in the three disciplines.

The tournament calendar will begin with Chess on September 16, followed by Yoga from September 18 and Table Tennis on September 21. The overall inter-school tournament programme will run through September 22, according to the schedule issued by the Deputy Education Office.
