Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 10: Tourism stakeholders and small businesses in Shaheed Dweep will get an opportunity to learn about government support for astro-tourism and other MSME-related assistance at a felicitation camp scheduled for September 11, 2026. The programme will be held at Neil Kendra Community Hall under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme.
The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (DIPT), Andaman and Nicobar Administration, is organising the camp in coordination with the Industries Department. The programme will focus on creating awareness among tourism stakeholders, MSMEs and other eligible beneficiaries about the assistance available through the RAMP Scheme, with particular emphasis on the tourism sector.
A central focus of the camp will be the promotion of astro-tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands through MSME support for the purchase of astro-tourism equipment. The initiative will provide prospective beneficiaries with information on the assistance available for such equipment under the scheme.

The camp will also explain the objectives and eligibility requirements associated with the RAMP support. Participants will be able to understand the benefits available to eligible beneficiaries and the process associated with MSME registration and its felicitation.
The programme is intended to bring information on the scheme closer to tourism-linked businesses and other potential beneficiaries in Shaheed Dweep, enabling them to understand the support available before seeking to avail it.
Tourism stakeholders, homestay operators, MSMEs and other interested persons from Shaheed Dweep have been encouraged to attend the programme. The camp will provide them with an opportunity to obtain information directly on the scheme’s provisions, eligibility criteria and available assistance.
The administration’s programme places astro-tourism equipment support within the broader RAMP framework for MSMEs in the tourism sector. For eligible participants, the camp is expected to serve as an information point on the requirements and benefits linked to the scheme.
The camp will be held on September 11 at Neil Kendra Community Hall, Shaheed Dweep, with the Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism and Industries Department jointly coordinating the programme.
