Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 9: The rollout of Aarogya Setu 2.0 under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is set to expand citizens’ access to digital healthcare by bringing personal health records, ABHA management and faster outpatient registration onto a single platform. The application, launched by the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare on June 29, 2026, integrates multiple digital health services aimed at simplifying access to healthcare information while ensuring consent-based sharing of medical records.
The Personal Health Record (PHR) application enables users to create and manage their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), which serves as a unique digital health identity. Through the platform, citizens can securely access their health records and share them with healthcare providers only after granting consent, allowing them to retain control over their personal medical information.
Aarogya Setu 2.0 also introduces Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR)-based technology to convert paper medical documents into structured digital records. The feature enables users to digitise existing prescriptions, reports and other health documents, making them easier to store, retrieve and use across participating healthcare facilities.

The application combines several healthcare services on a single digital platform. These include Smart Reports, appointment booking, teleconsultation, Scan and Register, Scan and Pay, health and wellness tracking, healthcare facility discovery, PM-JAY information, family health management, blood availability and AI-based health insights. The platform functions as the citizen interface of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, bringing healthcare services together in a digitally connected ecosystem.
One of the key public-facing features is the Scan and Share facility, which enables patients to scan QR codes displayed at participating healthcare facilities and digitally share their ABHA details after providing consent. The process is designed to facilitate quicker OPD registration, reduce waiting time, improve queue management and streamline patient movement within healthcare institutions.

The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), created under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, provides every registered citizen with a unique digital health identity that supports secure access to personal medical records and their seamless exchange across healthcare facilities with patient approval.
Authorities have encouraged citizens to download and use Aarogya Setu 2.0 to create and manage their ABHA, access digital health records and utilise the platform’s integrated healthcare services as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen a more accessible, efficient and patient-centric digital healthcare system.
