Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 7: The Viksit Bharat Quiz, the first stage of the selection process for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, is open to young people aged 15 to 29 in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands until September 30, 2026.
Conducted online through the MY Bharat Portal, the quiz will determine participants eligible to move to the next stage of the Viksit Bharat Challenge Track. The selection process will subsequently include an essay challenge, district-level competitions, a State/UT-level dialogue and the national-level VBYLD in New Delhi.
According to the programme schedule, participants who perform well in the quiz and meet the prescribed selection criteria will advance to the Viksit Bharat Essay Challenge, scheduled from October 5 to 19. Shortlisted participants at this stage will be required to submit a 500-word essay on designated themes related to the Viksit Bharat vision.
The next stage, District Championships, will be held from November 10 to 16, followed by the State/UT-level VBYLD from November 17 to December 7. The National VBYLD is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from January 10 to 12, 2027.
At the district stage, selected participants will present their ideas before a jury. Those selected at the State/UT level will proceed to the national dialogue, where participants may present their ideas before policymakers, domain experts, Union Ministers and other national leaders. Selected finalists will also have an opportunity to present before the Prime Minister.
The VBYLD 2027 programme includes six tracks: the Viksit Bharat Challenge, Cultural Track, Design for Bharat, Hack for Social Cause, Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge and Youth Parliament. The Cultural Track covers folk dance, folk song, painting, declamation and poetry writing.
The programme’s thematic framework covers 10 areas, including future governance, climate security, demographic dividend, sustainable industrialisation, connectivity, manufacturing, tribal leadership, innovation, frontier technology and the blue economy.
Eligible youth can participate in the quiz through the MY Bharat Portal by accessing the VBYLD 2027 section and selecting the “Participate in Quiz” option. Participants are required to register or log in, verify their details, select a language and complete the quiz before submitting their responses.
A Certificate of Participation will be generated after completion of the process.
MY Bharat A&N UT Director Sukha Ranjan Biswas has appealed to eligible youth, including students, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts & Guides, NYKS youth clubs and members of educational and youth organisations, to take part in the process before the September 30 deadline.
