The Central TB Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched the TB Mukt Bharat App, a digital platform aimed at improving access to tuberculosis-related information and services while strengthening treatment support and community participation under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP).
The application is designed to assist TB patients throughout their treatment by providing guidance, adherence support and follow-up assistance. It also connects with existing systems, including Nikshay, to facilitate seamless delivery of patient-centric services.
Beyond supporting patients, the app provides information on TB symptoms, prevention and treatment. The initiative seeks to improve access to accurate information, encourage early diagnosis and help address the stigma associated with the disease.

A major component of the platform is its integration with the Nikshay Mitra initiative, which enables members of the public, institutions, corporates and organisations to register through the app and support people undergoing TB treatment.
Registered Nikshay Mitras can provide nutritional, social or financial assistance to TB patients during their treatment period. The feature is intended to expand community involvement in efforts to eliminate the disease by enabling individuals and organisations to contribute directly to patient support.
The application also includes “Khushi – Aap Ke e-Sangini”, an interactive chatbot designed to provide users with immediate information on TB. It can respond to queries concerning symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and government support services.
The chatbot functions as a virtual source of guidance for both patients and members of the public, helping them address questions and access information in a user-friendly manner.

TB remains a significant public health concern, but the disease is completely curable when diagnosed in time and treated properly. The digital platform is intended to address gaps in awareness, support treatment adherence and strengthen community participation in TB elimination efforts.
The Central TB Division has urged the public to download and use the TB Mukt Bharat App to access information and services and participate in the Nikshay Mitra initiative.
The initiative places community participation alongside digital access as part of the broader effort to achieve a TB Mukt Bharat. Citizens, institutions and organisations are encouraged to use the platform to stay informed and extend support to TB patients who need nutritional, social or financial assistance during treatment.
