A&N Administration Invites CSR Support Through PANKHUDI Portal for Women and Children

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 25: The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has called on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), non-resident Indians (NRIs), corporate entities and interested individuals to register on the PANKHUDI Portal, a digital platform developed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to facilitate support for programmes aimed at improving the welfare of women and children.

The Directorate of Social Welfare issued the appeal, encouraging eligible stakeholders to use the integrated single-window platform to contribute to initiatives focused on nutrition, health, early childhood care and education, child protection, women’s safety and women’s empowerment. According to the Directorate, all contributions made through the portal are accepted only through non-cash modes, ensuring transparency and accountability in the funding process.

The PANKHUDI Portal has been launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, to promote collaboration between government departments, corporate organisations, NGOs, NRIs and citizens. The platform is designed to strengthen infrastructure and improve the quality of services in Anganwadi Centres, Child Care Institutions and other welfare institutions across the country through CSR and voluntary support.

In the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Directorate of Social Welfare currently manages 720 Anganwadi Centres functioning under five Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Projects and 28 Sectors. These centres provide a range of essential services relating to nutrition, healthcare, pre-school education and care for women and children across the Union Territory.

According to the Directorate, support mobilised through the PANKHUDI Portal will help strengthen these services and improve facilities at Anganwadi Centres, particularly in remote areas of the islands where access to welfare infrastructure remains important.

The Directorate has urged CSR organisations, NGOs, corporate entities, NRIs and interested individuals to register on the portal and extend support for initiatives benefiting women and children. It stated that contributions received through the platform would support the objectives of Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti.

Interested organisations and individuals have been advised to complete their registration through the official PANKHUDI Portal. The Directorate of Social Welfare has also stated that assistance will be provided during office hours to those requiring support with the registration process.

The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has appealed to all eligible stakeholders to participate in the initiative and contribute towards programmes focused on the welfare, development and empowerment of women and children in the Union Territory through the Government of India’s digital platform.
