Sri Vijaya Puram, July 6: A large-scale anti-encroachment operation reclaimed 207 square metres of public land near the Junglighat workshop area in Sri Vijaya Puram on July 4, as authorities intensified efforts to remove illegal occupations from government land and restore public spaces.
The enforcement action was carried out in the area falling under Ward No. 9 as part of the ongoing anti-encroachment campaign. During the operation, authorities dismantled and removed all unauthorised structures that had been erected on public land.
According to the administration, the drive resulted in the successful recovery of 207 square metres of encroached land, which has now been restored to the public domain. The operation forms part of a broader initiative aimed at clearing illegal occupations and protecting public property across different parts of the municipal area.
Officials stated that the action was undertaken as part of continued enforcement measures against encroachments on government land. The operation focused on the targeted site near the Junglighat workshop area, where unauthorised structures were identified and removed during the exercise.
The administration stated that the drive was completed smoothly and peacefully with the support and coordination of officials from the concerned departments along with assistance from the police team deployed during the operation.
Municipal authorities acknowledged the cooperation of the officials, departmental personnel and police staff involved in carrying out the enforcement exercise, stating that coordinated efforts facilitated the successful completion of the operation.
The administration reiterated that encroachments on public land would not be permitted and indicated that similar enforcement drives would continue in other wards as part of its ongoing campaign to reclaim public spaces.
