Sri Vijaya Puram, August 12: A coordinated anti-narcotics operation in Chakkar Gaon, Sri Vijaya Puram, led to the seizure of approximately 1.035 kg of suspected ganja and the arrest of a 21-year-old man, highlighting continuing efforts to curb the alleged possession and movement of narcotic substances. The operation was carried out by Aberdeen Police on August 11 at the parking area opposite Sai Baba Mandir, where the suspected contraband was recovered during a search.
According to sources, the police team, accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, proceeded to the identified location and apprehended Shahid Hussain Mulla, 21, son of Sujauddin Mulla and a resident near Sultan Bakery, Garacharama, Sri Vijaya Puram.
During the search, officers recovered a green-coloured cotton bag that contained suspected ganja wrapped inside a pink polythene bag. The recovered substance weighed approximately 1,035 grams, including the weight of the polythene bag, according to the seizure details.
The suspected contraband was seized and sealed at the spot in accordance with the procedure followed during the operation. After completion of the seizure process, the property was deposited in the police station malkhana, where it was entered in the malkhana records.
The accused was arrested at around 7.45 pm on August 11 in connection with the case. No additional arrests or recoveries were mentioned in the information provided.
