The Department of Agriculture, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, in line with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, will organize the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan across all zones from May 29 to June 12, 2025. The campaign aims to reach every farmer in the Union Territory, spreading awareness about modern agricultural practices for major Kharif crops and disseminating information regarding various government schemes and policies beneficial to farmers.
Officials from the Departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, and Fisheries, along with scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendras, will engage directly with farmers, providing detailed information on central schemes and sustainable farming practices. The campaign will also include saturation drives for flagship programs such as PM-KISAN and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, as well as farmer registry activities.
To ensure wider outreach, evening campaigning will take place at selected locations and village chaupals, and awareness will be carried out through social media activities. Pamphlets and leaflets explaining various schemes will be distributed, and boats will be used to reach farmers living in remote island areas.
