TSG Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), warmly felicitated Malati Mandal, senior Congress leader, on her recent appointment as the Women’s President of Atul Smriti Samiti (Bengali Club), A&N Islands. The felicitation was marked by a gesture of appreciation for her unwavering dedication and decades of service to the local community.

Congratulating Mandal, Bhasker extended his best wishes for her success in the new role, expressing full confidence that her leadership would further strengthen the social and cultural fabric of the Islands. He also emphasized that under her stewardship, the Atul Smriti Samiti would continue to expand its initiatives for the empowerment of women, promoting active participation in social welfare activities across the Union Territory.

Atul Smriti Samiti, one of the prominent cultural organizations in the Islands, has played an important role in preserving Bengali traditions while also encouraging community service. With Mandal now at the helm of its women’s wing, expectations are high for broader engagement of women in cultural, educational, and social welfare programs.

In his address, Bhasker highlighted Mandal’s longstanding association with community upliftment initiatives and her commitment to social causes, which he said made her the ideal choice for the leadership role. “Her experience, integrity, and vision will be invaluable assets in taking the mission of Atul Smriti Samiti to greater heights,” he remarked.

Members of the Atul Smriti Samiti and local Congress workers welcomed the appointment, stating that Mandal’s leadership would help the organization further reach marginalized communities and enhance women’s participation in public life. Several members lauded her earlier contributions toward women’s welfare, education drives, and cultural preservation efforts in the Islands.

The felicitation event also served as a platform to reiterate the Congress party’s commitment to supporting women leaders and promoting inclusive development across Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Leaders present stressed the need for more women to take up leadership roles within social, cultural, and political organizations to drive meaningful change at the grassroots level.

As Mandal formally assumes her new role, both the Atul Smriti Samiti and the larger community look forward to new initiatives that not only preserve the Islands’ rich cultural heritage but also promote empowerment, education, and equality for women.
