President Donald Trump said the United States’ military campaign against Iran could conclude “very soon,” stating that the objective of the operation is to eliminate Tehran’s ability to develop weapons capable of threatening the United States, Israel or allied nations.
Speaking during a press conference in Florida, Trump said the joint military campaign conducted by the United States and Israel had already inflicted significant damage on Iran’s military infrastructure and leadership structure.
When asked how long the conflict might continue, Trump indicated that the end of the campaign could come shortly but did not specify an exact timeline. He said the military operation had already achieved substantial results.
According to Trump, US and Israeli forces have carried out more than 5,000 strikes against Iranian targets since the start of the offensive. The strikes were aimed at weakening Iran’s military capabilities and disrupting its weapons development infrastructure.
Trump said the attacks had significantly degraded several elements of Iran’s military capacity, including naval assets, missile systems and drone capabilities.

He claimed that much of Iran’s naval power had been destroyed during the campaign and that missile capabilities had been sharply reduced. According to his assessment, Iran’s missile capacity had dropped to roughly 10 percent of its previous level.
The president also said that US forces had targeted Iran’s drone manufacturing infrastructure. He stated that operations aimed at dismantling drone production facilities had begun recently as part of the broader campaign.
Trump further asserted that multiple levels of Iranian military leadership had been eliminated during the strikes, describing the damage to leadership structures as extensive.
Despite describing the campaign as largely successful, Trump indicated that additional strikes could still be carried out if necessary. He said some major targets had deliberately not been attacked so far and could be struck later if circumstances required further military action.
According to Trump, destroying those remaining targets would severely delay Iran’s ability to rebuild critical military infrastructure.
The US president defined the ultimate objective of the military campaign as ensuring that Iran cannot develop weapons capable of threatening the United States or its allies for a prolonged period.
He said the campaign would be considered successful once Iran no longer has the capacity to produce weapon systems that could pose a strategic threat.
Trump also addressed concerns about potential disruptions to global energy routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical maritime oil transit corridors.
He warned that the United States would ensure the safety of the waterway and prevent attempts to interfere with international shipping traffic.
Trump said US naval forces were deployed in the region to maintain security along the shipping route and safeguard global energy flows.
The United States launched large-scale strikes on Iranian targets earlier this month in coordination with Israel as part of a broader effort to degrade Tehran’s military and nuclear capabilities.
The campaign has since expanded into a series of sustained air and military operations targeting infrastructure linked to missile systems, drone production and other military assets.
Trump’s remarks indicate that while the campaign has inflicted substantial damage on Iran’s military capabilities, US forces remain prepared to extend operations if strategic objectives are not fully achieved.
