The Directorate of Health Services, in coordination with the District Health Society, South Andaman, organized a T3 (Test, Treat, Talk) camp at the Prothrapur Community Hall as part of the Anaemia Mukt Bharat initiative. The program aims to reduce anaemia among vulnerable groups through a life cycle approach.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services, and attended by Dr. H. M Siddaraju, Joint Secretary (RCH-II), among others. Dr. Antony emphasized that anaemia is a major public health problem, affecting more than 50% of women of reproductive age and adolescent girls. Dr. Siddaraju highlighted the role of dietary habits in the development of iron deficiency anaemia and the ease of treatment through dietary changes.

A total of 45 beneficiaries were screened during the camp, with 11 severe and 17 moderate anaemic cases detected. Those diagnosed were treated on the spot with Iron and Folic Acid tablets and Albendazole.
