Stenographer and Hindi Translator Exams to Be Held in Andaman and Nicobar This August

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the examination dates for two major recruitment exams that will be conducted in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands this August. The exams are part of the Commission’s nationwide recruitment drive and are expected to witness participation from a significant number of candidates from the islands.

As per the schedule released by the SSC, the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Examination, 2025 will be conducted over a span of three days, from August 6 to August 8, 2025. Following this, the Combined Hindi Translator Examination, 2025, will take place on August 12, 2025. These exams serve as gateways to coveted central government positions and are open to eligible candidates from across the country, including remote regions like the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

To facilitate smooth conduct and accessibility, the SSC has made it clear that e-Admit Cards for all candidates appearing in these examinations will be made available online three to four days prior to their respective examination dates. These admit cards can be downloaded from either of the official websites, https://ssc.gov.in or https://sscer.org, depending on the region and examination type.

Candidates have been advised to monitor the official websites regularly to ensure they download their e-Admit Cards promptly and verify all information provided on them, including exam venue, timing, and reporting instructions.

The SSC examinations are among the most competitive and widely taken government recruitment exams in India. From stenography and translation to clerical and technical roles, these exams offer a broad spectrum of opportunities in various ministries, departments, and subordinate offices under the Government of India. The exams are typically held in multiple shifts across various centres, ensuring fairness, accessibility, and transparency in the recruitment process.

For candidates in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, appearing in these national-level exams poses unique challenges due to geographical isolation, limited internet connectivity in some areas, and relatively fewer coaching facilities. However, the availability of online admit cards and digital exam resources has played a vital role in bridging this access gap in recent years. The announcement of these examination dates is also a signal that the SSC is continuing to include island-based candidates in the mainstream recruitment process, ensuring they are not left behind due to geographic disadvantages.

As these exams approach, candidates are likely to intensify their final round of preparations. The island administration, in coordination with SSC authorities, is expected to make necessary logistical and security arrangements at exam centres to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations. This includes power backup, invigilation, transportation advisories, and measures for ensuring adherence to exam protocols and guidelines.

With both the Stenographer and Hindi Translator exams offering direct entry into government services, the stakes are high for aspirants from the islands. Successful candidates stand to secure stable, long-term government employment with access to benefits and upward career mobility.

The SSC’s outreach to island-based candidates remains a positive sign of inclusion, and the coming days will be critical for aspirants to remain focused, organized, and vigilant about downloading their admit cards, reaching the exam centres on time, and adhering to all protocols as laid out by the Commission.
