SP Cup Football Tournament 2025 Concludes in North & Middle Andaman with Divyanka-NFC Victory

The SP Cup Football Tournament–2025, organized by the North & Middle Andaman District Police, concluded on October 4 with a grand finale at Netaji Stadium, Mayabunder. The week-long tournament, which began on September 26, was open to all categories and featured spirited matches, enthusiastic crowds, and a showcase of local footballing talent.

The final match, contested between Bakultala-FC and Divyanka-NFC, was kicked off by Chandan G S, Dy.SP/DHQ & SDPO Rangat, in the presence of Ankesh Yadav, SDPO Diglipur. Divyanka-NFC demonstrated determination, teamwork, and exceptional skill, ultimately emerging victorious and lifting the championship trophy to the delight of spectators. The thrilling finale marked a fitting conclusion to a week-long celebration of talent, perseverance, and the unifying power of sports.

The closing ceremony was held at the Forest Club, Mayabunder, and was graced by Shweta K. Sugathan, Superintendent of Police, N&MA District, as chief guest. The event was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Lata Hegde Prasad, DFO Mayabunder; Krishna Chaitanya, Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Mayabunder; Avinash Chitagubbi, Commandant, ICG Mayabunder; and Dr. Prabhu Ram, Principal, MGG College, Mayabunder, along with senior government officials and PRI members as special guests. Their presence added prestige to the occasion and served as encouragement for all participating athletes.

The ceremony featured prize distribution honoring winners and participants for their achievements. The evening also included a vibrant cultural programme and a Nukkad Natak on drug abuse, delivering a meaningful message to the audience. Organized under the theme ‘Nasha Mukht Bharat,’ the tournament aimed to guide young minds away from substance abuse while promoting local talent, community participation, and healthy competition.
