South Andaman District Office Gets Revamped Registration Cell to Improve Public Access

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, August 12: The South Andaman District Administration has inaugurated a revamped Registration Cell at the District Office in Sri Vijaya Puram, introducing a dedicated facility intended to improve public access to registration-related services and simplify interactions with government offices. The initiative forms part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen citizen-centric governance while promoting Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, inaugurated the facility at the Ground Floor of the District Office. The Registration Cell has been designed as a dedicated, accessible and citizen-friendly centre where members of the public can obtain assistance and guidance on registration-related services.

According to the administration, the facility will help citizens navigate registration procedures more conveniently by providing support in understanding the required processes and completing necessary formalities. The initiative seeks to reduce inconvenience for applicants while improving the overall delivery of registration-related public services.

By bringing registration assistance under one dedicated facility, the administration aims to make the process more streamlined, transparent and responsive. The Registration Cell is expected to assist citizens who require guidance during different stages of registration procedures, making government services easier to access.

The administration said the facility will also support Ease of Doing Business by enabling individuals, entrepreneurs, institutions and other stakeholders to access registration-related services in a more efficient and predictable manner. Improved accessibility is also intended to contribute to Ease of Living by reducing procedural difficulties and making government services more approachable for the public.

The revamped Registration Cell is part of the District Administration’s broader efforts to strengthen transparency, accessibility and efficient public service delivery. The administration stated that it will continue to improve public-facing facilities and expand the use of digital services to simplify procedures, minimise unnecessary visits to government offices and provide a smoother interface between citizens and government departments.

Citizens requiring registration-related services have been encouraged to use the Registration Cell as well as the available online services to access registration facilities in a convenient, transparent and hassle-free manner. The administration said the initiative is intended to improve the delivery of registration services while making government processes easier for the public to navigate.
