South Andaman DC Inspects Haddo Wards, Evaluates Urban and Public Facilities

The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman conducted a detailed inspection of Ward No. 1 and Ward No. 2 in Haddo, focusing on strengthening civic infrastructure and addressing urban development priorities. The visit aimed to assess public amenities, identify gaps in infrastructure, and engage with local representatives to understand community concerns. Ward Councillors accompanied the Deputy Commissioner throughout the inspection.

At the Tirupati Temple area, officials reviewed proposals to use the vacant land in front of the temple for community and temple-related activities. Plans to convert nearby dilapidated government quarters into a gymnasium for local youth were also discussed. The Deputy Commissioner assured that these proposals would be examined for feasibility and practical implementation.

In the vicinity of CCS, opposite Teja Hotel, discussions centered on constructing a new community hall to benefit local residents. At Ranchi Bijan, officials considered developing a dedicated parking area to reduce roadside congestion and improve accessibility.

The inspection also covered an open space near Van Sadhan, where proposals to create a playground or recreational area were put forward. The Deputy Commissioner recognized the value of such initiatives in enhancing community engagement and promised that the suggestions would be given due consideration.

The inspection concluded with a review of the existing community hall in Ward No. 1. The Deputy Commissioner directed that necessary repairs and maintenance be carried out to ensure the facility remains operational and accessible. The Ward Councillor praised the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the Administration and the community to improve local infrastructure.
