Three Youths Taken Into Custody Following Sudden Fight in School Line Locality

Sudden scuffle between local youths results in injuries; police detain accused and launch full investigation

Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), April 9: A violent altercation between two groups of youths in the School Line area left multiple individuals injured and led to the arrest of three persons, with Aberdeen Police registering a case of assault.

Police and local sources reported that two youths had gone to watch a local village cricket match when they were confronted by a group of three youths without provocation. The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical fight, with participants engaging in slaps, kicks, and scuffles.

During the clash, one of the accused allegedly produced a knife, causing injuries to those involved. A 21-year-old sustained cuts to his fingers and injuries to his hand, while another person received injuries to the forearm while attempting to intervene. Multiple participants reportedly suffered minor injuries in the altercation.

Residents in the vicinity responded after hearing the commotion, helping to disperse those involved and assist the injured. The incident was promptly reported to police, who reached the scene shortly thereafter.

The three accused were detained at the location and subsequently placed under formal arrest. Authorities confirmed that the case is being investigated as an assault, with further inquiries underway to establish the complete sequence of events. Both groups involved were reportedly from the same locality.

Police officials noted that the injured individuals are out of danger and no life-threatening injuries were recorded. Authorities emphasized that the situation remains under control and that legal procedures have been initiated in accordance with existing law.
