Revenue Camp Court Resolves Cases During Public Outreach Drive

A public grievance redressal programme organised in Diglipur under the initiative “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashasan Gaon ki Ore” witnessed strong public participation as residents engaged directly with district authorities to address local issues and administrative concerns.

The programme was conducted in the conference hall of the Administrative Building in Diglipur under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman. The initiative forms part of the administration’s outreach efforts aimed at strengthening service delivery and ensuring that public grievances are addressed promptly at the grassroots level.

Officials said the programme is designed to provide citizens with a direct platform to interact with administrative authorities and resolve issues related to government services. It also seeks to bring departmental officials closer to communities in remote areas of the islands.

The event was attended by the Assistant Commissioner of Diglipur along with heads of various government offices and representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions. Their presence allowed residents to raise concerns across multiple departments and seek immediate clarification or assistance.

A key component of the programme was the Revenue Camp Court, where several revenue-related cases were taken up for examination. Cases involving subdivision of land, correction of names in records and mutation were reviewed during the session.

Officials said that in cases where documentation was clear and verification could be completed on the spot, orders were issued immediately. The on-the-spot resolution of such cases is intended to reduce delays that often arise when citizens are required to travel repeatedly to administrative offices for routine procedures.

The programme attracted around 350 participants, including PRI members, government officials and members of the public. Authorities described the turnout as a sign of growing community engagement in governance processes and public service delivery.

Public grievance redressal camps are increasingly being used by administrations across the country as a means of improving accessibility to government services. In geographically dispersed regions such as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, such initiatives are particularly significant because they bring administrative processes closer to citizens living in distant locations.

Officials noted that the Sampark se Samadhan initiative focuses on resolving issues through direct engagement with the public. By organising programmes at the grassroots level, authorities aim to ensure transparency in decision-making while also improving the efficiency of service delivery.

The Diglipur programme provided residents with an opportunity to present their concerns directly before senior officials. Such interactions are intended to help authorities understand local issues more clearly while enabling quicker resolution of administrative matters.

Revenue-related cases often involve documentation and procedural verification, which can take time if handled through conventional channels. Camp courts are designed to streamline this process by allowing officials from different departments to coordinate and resolve cases collectively.

Authorities said the response to the programme reflected strong community interest in participating in governance initiatives and seeking timely solutions to administrative issues.

The administration plans to continue organising similar outreach programmes in other parts of the district as part of the effort to improve accessibility of public services. Through these initiatives, officials aim to strengthen trust between citizens and the administration while ensuring that government schemes and services reach communities effectively.
