Rukmani Motors, an authorized Maruti Suzuki dealer, has expanded its operations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, aiming to enhance automobile access and after-sales services for residents. The move comes as the dealership sets out to capture a significant share of the local market, currently averaging around 250 vehicles per month.
Established in 2003 in Indore, Rukmani Motors is now in its third generation of management. Over the past eight years, the company has actively grown its footprint, with the Andaman expansion representing its second major regional venture. The dealership has launched Arena and Nexa showrooms at Phoenix Bay and Lamba Line, operational since January 2025, offering customers a premium automobile retail experience.
CEO Ayush Gayati said the company delivered nearly 800 vehicles over the past year, with current monthly sales ranging between 80 and 90 units. He added that Rukmani Motors targets capturing up to 50 percent of the islands’ automobile market, particularly as new model launches, including electric vehicles, are expected to drive further growth.
Central to the company’s strategy is after-sales service. The dealership recently inaugurated a full-service facility at Lamba Line, handling 10–15 vehicles daily. Gayati highlighted plans to expand service operations to Diglipur, Rangat, and other parts of the islands, ensuring that customers across the territory can access support without traveling long distances.
Rukmani Motors is set to introduce complementary services, including Nexa service, True Value for pre-owned vehicles, the Maruti Suzuki Driving School, and mobile “Service on Wheels” units to deliver doorstep assistance. To mitigate logistical challenges posed by the island geography, the company maintains a robust spare parts inventory and arranges air transport when shipping delays occur.
The dealership’s approach prioritizes transparency and customer satisfaction. Gayati noted that zero complaints have been recorded so far, reflecting the emphasis on reliability, accessibility, and service quality. The company’s policy is to take services directly to the customer rather than requiring long-distance travel to access facilities.
Authorities within the company indicated that further network expansion is planned, with additional workshops and showrooms, including a proposed facility in Diglipur. These measures aim to strengthen the company’s long-term presence while improving automobile infrastructure across the islands.
Industry analysts view the move as a significant step in transforming the local automobile landscape. By combining showroom accessibility, comprehensive service options, and proactive customer engagement, Rukmani Motors is positioning itself as a leading player in the Andaman and Nicobar automobile sector.
With the dual focus on retail growth and service enhancement, the company is not only meeting immediate market demand but also building capacity to support future vehicle sales, including emerging electric vehicle models. Residents of the islands stand to benefit from improved availability of vehicles, prompt maintenance, and broader access to automotive services.
