PRI–Youth Synergy Highlighted at Rangat Block-Level Training Programme

The Block Development Office, CD Block Rangat, organised a block-level training programme on the theme ‘Fostering Synergies between Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Rural Youth for Sustainable Community Development’ at the Panchayat Samiti Hall, Rangat, with an emphasis on strengthening grassroots governance and community-led development.

Addressing the participants, Sujit Mistry, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Nimbutala, spoke in detail about the structure, powers and responsibilities of Panchayati Raj Institutions. He underlined the importance of active participation of villagers in Gram Sabha meetings, stating that meaningful public involvement is key to transparent decision-making and effective local governance.

Block Development Officer, Rangat, Pradeep Kumar Singh highlighted the critical role of collaboration between PRIs and rural youth in building inclusive and sustainable communities. He noted that youth engagement in local planning and implementation not only brings fresh ideas but also ensures continuity in development initiatives at the village level.

Mohammed Irfan, Block Programme Manager under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), shared insights on the concept of model villages and stressed the need for strong coordination between PRIs and rural youth to achieve holistic, community-driven development outcomes. He emphasised that empowered local institutions and informed youth can together accelerate rural transformation.

The technical session of the programme was conducted by Deepa Biswas, Domain Expert (Livelihood) under RGSA, who discussed practical approaches to livelihood enhancement and community participation, reinforcing the importance of capacity-building initiatives in achieving sustainable rural development goals.
