The Indian Coast Guard will conduct a firing practice session at Baffle Range, Brichgunj, on May 28 between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., as per a public advisory issued on May 26 from Sri Vijaya Puram.
Officials have cautioned that all concerned, including residents, vehicle users, and livestock owners, must stay away from the designated firing area during the exercise. The warning aims to ensure public safety and prevent accidental entry into the live-fire zone.
The firing drill is part of routine training exercises and will involve live ammunition. Given the risks involved during such operations, the administration has requested strict adherence to the safety instructions.
Baffle Range is a regular venue for such Coast Guard training activities, but the administration typically issues public notices ahead of time to minimise disruptions and hazards. Authorities are expected to monitor the area for any movement and ensure that no one crosses into the restricted zone.
Entry into the firing zone during this period is strictly prohibited. Public cooperation is being sought to ensure the exercise proceeds without incident and that safety measures are upheld.
