Police Seek Public Help to Identify Deceased Man Found at Jodakilan

Authorities at Pahargaon Police Station have launched an urgent public appeal after an unidentified male body was discovered on vacant land opposite Tripathi Hardware, Jodakilan. The discovery was made on May 2, 2025, leading to the registration of an Unnatural Death FIR (UDFIR) No. 25/25 under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

Despite initial investigative efforts, no clues regarding the deceased’s identity or his relatives have surfaced. The man, estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old, is described as thin-built, with a sallow complexion and a mix of white and black hair. At the time of discovery, he was wearing a red and blue striped full-sleeve shirt and white half-pants.

The body has been preserved at the cold mortuary room of GB Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram, awaiting identification and claims by family or acquaintances.

The police have issued a call to the general public, urging anyone with information that could help identify the deceased to contact emergency numbers 112, 03192-236641, or 03192-250525. Authorities have assured that all details and identities of informants will be kept strictly confidential.

While the cause of death remains unclear pending further investigation, local residents are urged to report any suspicious activities or missing persons that could be linked to this case. The police continue to canvas the area and review missing persons reports, but they are relying heavily on community support to bring closure to the matter.
