Police Station Pahargaon intercepted a narcotics operation at Jodaikalan on November 23, 2025, arresting four individuals and seizing 28 grams of methamphetamine along with ₹27,000 in cash. The crackdown marked a decisive action against illegal drug trade in the area following credible information received by the police.
According to the police, reliable inputs indicated that a group of individuals was engaged in the trade of methamphetamine near the Ship Building Yard at Jodaikalan. Acting on this intelligence, a raiding team was constituted immediately, led by the Station House Officer of Pahargaon along with officers and personnel from the station. The objective was to conduct a swift and coordinated operation to intercept the suspects before they dispersed.
The team reached the location without delay and strategically positioned themselves to monitor movements and prevent any escape attempt. During surveillance, two vehicles suspected to be involved in the illegal activity were identified. The police intercepted the vehicles and conducted a search, leading to the recovery of 28 grams of methamphetamine from the possession of the four individuals.
The arrested persons were identified as residents of Prothrapur, Phoenix Bay, Prothrapur and Garacharma. In addition to the narcotic substance, officers also seized ₹27,000 believed to be linked to the illegal trade. Both vehicles used in transporting the contraband were confiscated as part of the operation.
The four accused were taken into custody on the spot under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Police stated that the case will now proceed in accordance with the prescribed legal process, with the seized substance and related materials sent for necessary examination and documentation.
Officials noted that the swift action was made possible due to the timely intelligence received and coordinated efforts of the raiding team. They added that continued vigilance and cooperation from the public play a crucial role in identifying and curbing such illegal activities.
