Forest Department Invites Objections On Mazdoor Recruitment

Date:

The Nicobar Forest Division has released the accepted and rejected lists of candidates who applied for the post of Mazdoor in the Campbell Bay area of Great Nicobar, inviting claims and objections from applicants within a stipulated time frame. The recruitment process relates to a notification issued in February 2023 and published in a local daily, following which applications were invited for the post.

According to the Forest Department, the lists have been displayed on the notice board of the Nicobar Forest Division office at Campbell Bay to enable candidates to verify their application status. In addition to the physical display, both the accepted and rejected lists have also been uploaded on the official website of the Forest Department to ensure wider accessibility and transparency in the recruitment process.

Candidates whose names appear in either list have been invited to submit claims or objections, if any, up to January 31, 2026. The department has specified that claims and objections will be received on all working days between 9 am and 5 pm during the stipulated period.

For submitting claims or objections, candidates have been advised to approach the Recruitment Cell of the Nicobar Forest Division at Campbell Bay with all relevant documents. Applicants may submit their representations either in person or by contacting the recruitment cell over the designated phone number provided by the department.

Officials indicated that the objection window has been provided to allow candidates to seek clarification, correction or reconsideration in cases where discrepancies may have occurred during the scrutiny of applications. The process is intended to ensure that the recruitment exercise is carried out in a fair and transparent manner.

The Forest Department has emphasised that candidates must produce valid supporting documents while submitting claims or objections. These documents will be examined by the recruitment authorities before any decision is taken on the representations received.

Recruitment to the post of Mazdoor is considered an important process for strengthening field-level operations of the Forest Department in the Nicobar region. The department plays a key role in forest protection, conservation and management activities across the Islands, particularly in ecologically sensitive areas such as Great Nicobar.

Officials said the current stage of the recruitment process is a procedural step aimed at finalising the list of eligible candidates before moving on to subsequent stages, if any. The department has not indicated any changes to the recruitment schedule beyond the objection period announced.

Applicants have been advised to regularly check the department’s website and notice boards for further updates related to the recruitment process. The Forest Department has reiterated that no claims or objections will be entertained after the deadline of January 31, 2026.

The outcome of the claims and objections process is expected to pave the way for the next steps in the recruitment exercise, ensuring that eligible candidates are considered in accordance with the rules and conditions laid down in the original notification.
