Anti-Drugs Drive At Ferrargunj Under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 11: In a bid to combat substance abuse, the Directorate of Social Welfare under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) organized an extensive awareness program at Ferrargunj, South Andaman. The initiative, part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’, brought together departments from Health, Police, and Rehabilitation to educate locals about the ill effects of drugs and alcohol.

Experts discussed the psychological and legal consequences of addiction, with the Police Department also promoting the 112 helpline. The Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts shared pathways for recovery and rehabilitation. The session concluded with an interactive community dialogue, and similar events are scheduled through April and May.
