MY Bharat Launches National Youth Engagement Programme on Union Budget 2026

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, has launched MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026, a national-level youth engagement initiative under the MY Bharat programme, aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of the Union Budget 2026 among young citizens.

The programme, titled “युवाओं के विकसित भारत बजट पर बात, प्रधानमंत्री जी के साथ”, is a multi-stage national competition designed to provide students and young citizens with the opportunity to interact with government policies and the Union Budget process.

Youth participants are required to register on the MY Bharat Portal at https://mybharat.gov.in or via QR code. Registration for the National-level Online Quiz on Union Budget 2026 will remain open until February 23.

The initial stage of the programme is the online quiz, where participants will answer questions related to the Union Budget 2026. Performance in this stage will determine the top scorers, who will be shortlisted for the next stage – the State/UT-level Essay Round. Participants in this round are expected to submit an essay on one of eight identified themes related to the Union Budget.

After evaluation, the State/UT-wise rank lists will be declared, and selected winners from each region will earn the opportunity for a virtual interaction with the Prime Minister to discuss aspects of Union Budget 2026.

The MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026 aims to encourage young citizens to engage critically with national economic policies, understand government priorities, and express their perspectives through structured dialogue and essay writing. It also seeks to foster a sense of participation in nation-building and policy discussions among the youth.

Officials from the Ministry emphasized that the programme provides a platform to translate learning into practice by allowing young citizens to explore themes such as fiscal policy, taxation, economic growth, social welfare, and other priority areas highlighted in the Union Budget.

The multi-stage structure of the initiative is intended to challenge participants’ analytical and creative abilities, while also promoting nationwide participation from students and youth across all States and Union Territories.

By offering the chance for a virtual interaction with the Prime Minister, the initiative also aims to inspire youth to take an active role in policy discussions and strengthen their understanding of economic governance.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports highlighted that initiatives like MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026 are part of a broader strategy to create informed, engaged, and responsible young citizens who are aware of government policies and the significance of the Union Budget in shaping India’s development trajectory.

Youth across India are encouraged to register promptly and participate in the online quiz to be part of this national-level engagement programme.
