Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, October 17: Passengers travelling from Sri Vijaya Puram to Chennai on MV Swaraj Dweep on October 22 must complete embarkation within the designated morning window, while those booking excess baggage or cargo must make advance arrangements with the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS).

The vessel will depart Sri Vijaya Puram for Chennai at 10 am on October 22, according to a DSS announcement. Passengers must report for embarkation between 7 am and 9 am that day, with boarding closing one hour before the scheduled departure. The department has stated that passengers who arrive late will not be permitted to board.

Passengers intending to transport excess baggage or cargo must book it in advance through the Commercial Wing of DSS. The department has scheduled the loading of excess baggage between 2 pm and 4 pm on October 21, a day before the vessel’s departure.

Separately, MV Swaraj Dweep, which sailed from Kolkata, is expected to reach Haddo Wharf at 6 am on October 18, a DSS press release said.

The vessel is carrying 201 adults and one infant, including one foreign national, along with 271.13 metric tonnes of cargo. The arrival details were included in the department’s announcement.

The two schedules cover the vessel’s expected arrival at Haddo Wharf and its subsequent departure from Sri Vijaya Puram for Chennai. Passengers planning to travel on the October 22 sailing should account for the specified reporting and baggage-loading windows and complete advance cargo bookings through the designated DSS office.

The embarkation deadline is particularly important for passengers, as the department has made clear that it will not allow late arrivals to board after the closure time.
