A chilling murder has rocked the quiet locality of Lauki Nallah No. 3 in Billiground, North & Middle Andaman, after a local man was found dead under suspicious circumstances late on the night of May 6, Nicobar Times reported.
According to an FIR cited in the report, the deceased, Kishore Tete, was discovered unconscious and bleeding from the head in a neighbour’s courtyard around 10 PM. The complaint was lodged by a woman who stated she was at home with her younger daughter when she heard strange noises outside. Upon investigating with a torch, she found Tete lying on the ground.
What followed next left her shocked. As per the FIR, a neighbour, Alok Sureng, was seen nearby in a reportedly intoxicated state. When questioned, he allegedly admitted to the crime, stating, “I have killed Kishore Tete.” Alarmed, she called out for help, prompting nearby residents to rush to the spot. By the time they checked Tete for signs of life, he had succumbed to his injuries, and Alok had fled toward a nearby drain.
The report further mentions that due to lack of mobile network coverage in the area, the complainant had to request villagers to report the incident to police by any means possible. A suspected dispute is believed to have led to the murder. The police have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which pertains to the offence of murder. Further investigation is underway.
