Fresh details have emerged in the incident involving a Pawan Hans helicopter that crashed into the sea shortly after taking off for Mayabunder, helping establish the flight sequence and rescue response linked to the incident.
According to available information, the helicopter had departed from Sri Vijaya Puram at around 8.20 am as part of a scheduled service operating on the Sri Vijaya Puram-Rangat-Mayabunder sector. The aircraft safely completed the first leg of the journey and landed at Rangat without any reported issues.
After a brief halt at Rangat, the helicopter took off for its next destination, Mayabunder. It was during this second leg of the flight that the incident occurred. Officials said the helicopter crashed into the sea shortly before reaching Mayabunder. The exact time of the crash has not yet been officially confirmed.
