‘Lakhpati Didis’ special camp begin in Ferrargunj

Sri Vijaya Puram: A two-day Bank Linkage Camp aimed at empowering Self-Help Group (SHG) women, especially potential ‘Lakhpati Didis’, concluded successfully in the Ferrargunj block. The initiative, organized by the Community Development Block Ferrargunj, focused on enabling SHG members to access formal banking services and credit linkages.

Day one of the camp was held at the Community Management and Training Centre (CMTC), where Block Development Officer Lalita Tigga underlined the importance of SHG-bank partnerships in uplifting rural livelihoods. Representatives from State Bank of India (Wimberlygunj and Ograbraj branches) and Canara Bank interacted directly with over 50 SHG participants, of which eight expressed interest in loan facilities.

On the second day, the camp moved to Stewartgunj Gram Panchayat, targeting another group of 27 SHG members. Bankers provided insights into loan application processes, required documentation, and financial discipline, while CRISIL Foundation conducted awareness sessions on pension schemes. Seven SHG members successfully completed bank linkage formalities during the camp.
