The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has announced two key updates in its education and recruitment calendar, spot admissions for Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the tentative schedule for the Forest Ranger written examination. Both announcements mark crucial steps toward expanding educational opportunities and strengthening the human resource framework across the Islands.
According to the Directorate of Employment & Training, several seats remain vacant at Government ITI Bakultala and Government ITI Arong. To ensure these are filled promptly, spot admissions will be conducted simultaneously on November 12, 2025, beginning at 9 AM. The sessions will be held at the respective campuses in Bakultala (Rangat) and Arong (Car Nicobar), as well as at the central coordination point in Government ITI Dollygunj, Port Blair.
The spot admission process will be open to both candidates who have already applied through the Common College Admission Portal (CCAP) and those who have not registered earlier. Interested candidates are required to attend in person or through an authorized representative, carrying original documents for verification. These include educational certificates, category and local certificates, duration and transfer certificates, Aadhaar card, and bank passbook. Applicants must also bring two recent passport-size photographs, self-attested copies of all documents, and the requisite admission fee.
Candidates provisionally selected during the spot admission will be required to submit a valid medical fitness certificate within two days of admission confirmation. The ITI authorities have advised candidates to strictly adhere to the schedule and reporting time, as the admissions will be carried out only on the specified date and subject to availability of seats.
The initiative aims to maximize training opportunities in technical and vocational fields while ensuring that institutions across the Islands operate at full capacity. These ITIs play a pivotal role in equipping youth with employable skills in areas such as mechanical maintenance, electrical work, carpentry, and marine trades, professions that are vital to the Islands’ growing industrial and service sectors.
In a related development, the Department of Environment & Forests has announced the tentative schedule for the written examination for recruitment to the post of Forest Ranger. The examination is expected to take place between December 28, 2025, and January 4, 2026.
Officials confirmed that the exact dates, subjects, and venue details will be printed on the admit cards, which will be available for download closer to the examination period. The announcement follows a prior vacancy notice issued in July 2025 and is part of the Administration’s ongoing recruitment drive to strengthen conservation and field management capacities within the department.
The Forest Ranger examination is a key recruitment process, focusing on candidates capable of managing the Islands’ complex ecosystem, enforcing environmental laws, and supporting biodiversity conservation efforts. Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in forestry science, wildlife protection, environmental management, and administrative skills.
Both announcements reflect the Administration’s broader strategy of promoting education, technical skill development, and career opportunities for residents of the Islands. By filling existing vacancies in ITIs and moving ahead with pending recruitment drives, the authorities aim to address local employment gaps and ensure that government departments are adequately staffed with trained personnel.
These developments also highlight the Administration’s continued commitment to enhancing accessibility and transparency in both education and recruitment. Through timely updates, structured admission procedures, and clear communication of exam schedules, the Andaman & Nicobar Administration is aligning its efforts toward building a skilled and self-reliant workforce capable of supporting the Islands’ long-term developmental goals.
