Indian Army to Host Recruitment Rally in Andaman & Nicobar Islands This October Under Delhi Se Dweep

The Indian Army is bringing opportunities closer to the farthest corners of the country with its upcoming recruitment rally in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Organised under the banner of “Delhi Se Dweep”, the event is set to take place in October 2025 across two venues, offering local youth a direct chance to join various roles under the Agniveer scheme.

The rally is scheduled from October 8 to 10 at Netaji Stadium in Sri Vijaya Puram, covering candidates from South Andaman and North & Middle Andaman districts. On October 14 and 15, the Mini Sports Stadium at Campbell Bay will host aspirants from Nicobar district. By conducting the event across these locations, the Army aims to ease logistical barriers, particularly for young people from remote southern Nicobar areas, and ensure that distance does not hinder participation.

This recruitment drive follows the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for the 2025-26 recruiting year, where candidates were shortlisted for roles including Agniveer General Duty (All Arms), Agniveer Office Assistant/Store Keeper Technical, Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Tradesman (8th and 10th pass), Sepoy Pharmacy, Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant (Veterinary), and Agniveer (General Duty) Women in Corps of Military Police.

The Army has issued a reminder to candidates about the mandatory documents required for participation. These include an admit card, educational certificates, affidavits in prescribed formats, character certificates, nativity certificates, caste and religion certificates, school records, unmarried certificates, and residence proof. Additionally, candidates must bring 20 recent passport-sized photographs. Special requirements such as a non-pregnancy certificate apply for women aspirants. NCC and sports certificates can also be submitted where relevant, along with PAN and Aadhaar cards.

Admit cards for the rally will be distributed in the last week of August through the official recruitment portal, www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Candidates are advised to regularly check their registered emails and the website for updates on reporting times and verification requirements.

The Army has cautioned against reliance on touts or middlemen, reiterating that the recruitment process is automated, transparent, and merit-based. Officials stressed that no agent or external individual has the ability to influence selection, and candidates must rely on preparation, physical fitness, and performance to secure their place. The advisory also warned against fraudulent claims and urged aspirants to report suspicious activities.

The rally is seen as part of the Army’s broader effort to enhance representation from distant territories while reinforcing the message of national integration. For the islands, where young people often face hurdles of connectivity and travel, the drive brings the recruitment process directly within their reach.

By extending opportunities under the Agniveer scheme to island youth, the Army hopes to tap into the region’s enthusiasm for national service. The Agniveer programme, introduced as part of a wider reform in military recruitment, focuses on short-term service with benefits of training, skill development, and future employability. Officials believe that opening these roles to island candidates not only provides local employment opportunities but also strengthens the sense of belonging within the national framework.

The “Delhi Se Dweep” banner highlights this theme of integration, linking the nation’s capital with one of its most geographically distant territories. For aspirants, the rally represents a chance to step into a pathway of pride, service, and discipline. For the Army, it reaffirms its role in reaching even the most remote corners of the country to uphold inclusivity.

With preparations underway, the October rally is expected to draw strong participation across both venues. Candidates have been reminded that only adherence to official requirements will ensure entry to the rally. In the coming weeks, the success of “Delhi Se Dweep” will be measured by the number of island youth stepping forward to join the armed forces, turning aspiration into active service.
