The Indian Army’s recruitment process for the year 2027 has been set in motion, with online registrations now open and a series of support camps being organised across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to assist aspiring candidates in completing their applications.
According to the official notification, the recruitment process was announced on February 13, 2026, through the Indian Army’s official portal, with the online registration window remaining open until April 1, 2026. Authorities have initiated a coordinated outreach effort in the Islands to ensure that eligible youth are able to access and complete the application process within the stipulated timeline.
As part of this initiative, a network of registration camps is being conducted under the banner of “Delhi to Dweep 2.0,” aimed at providing technical guidance and support to candidates who may face challenges in navigating the online registration system. The camps are being organised with the assistance of the Military Component of Headquarters Andaman and Nicobar Command (HQ ANC) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Officials indicated that the camps are intended to bridge gaps in access to digital resources and awareness, particularly in geographically dispersed regions of the Islands. By setting up physical support points, authorities aim to ensure that candidates from remote and rural areas are not excluded from the recruitment process due to logistical constraints.
The registration camps have been set up at multiple locations, including Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM) College in Sri Vijaya Puram, Mahatma Gandhi College in Mayabunder, Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Diglipur, GSSS Nicobar, GSSS Swaraj Dweep and GSSS Campbell Bay. These locations have been selected to provide wider geographical coverage and ease of access for applicants across the Islands.
At these centres, candidates are being provided with step-by-step assistance in completing their online registration, including guidance on documentation, eligibility criteria and submission procedures. Officials noted that such support is particularly important for first-time applicants who may be unfamiliar with the recruitment process.
The recruitment drive offers an opportunity for youth to join the Indian Army, with authorities emphasising the structured career path, discipline and service associated with the profession. The outreach campaign is also focused on raising awareness about the various roles and opportunities available within the armed forces.
Officials involved in the initiative highlighted that the response from youth in the Islands has been encouraging, with participation in the camps reflecting growing interest in defence services as a career option. The presence of NCC units in the outreach effort further reinforces the connection between training programmes and recruitment pathways.
Candidates have been advised to complete their registration well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. Authorities reiterated that the online application process is mandatory and that support camps are meant to facilitate, rather than replace, the digital submission system.
For queries or additional assistance, candidates have been directed to contact the Recruiting Office (Headquarters) in Chennai, which is overseeing the recruitment process for the region. The helpline has been made available to address concerns related to eligibility, documentation and application procedures.
With the deadline approaching, officials have underscored the importance of timely registration and thorough preparation. The ongoing outreach through registration camps is expected to play a key role in ensuring broader participation from the Islands in the Indian Army recruitment process for 2027.
