India is positioning itself as a key force in the global energy transition, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that the country is entering a decisive phase driven by electrification, clean energy expansion and domestic manufacturing.
In a public statement on Friday, Modi underscored that India’s evolving energy strategy is anchored in policy-driven reforms and a focus on self-reliance. The remarks accompanied the sharing of an article authored by Shripad Yesso Naik, which outlined the structural transformation underway in the power sector.
The government’s approach, according to Modi, combines scaling up renewable energy capacity with strengthening manufacturing ecosystems to reduce import dependency. He indicated that such efforts are helping India carve out a stronger role in the global energy landscape at a time when countries are recalibrating their energy strategies amid climate and supply challenges.

In his written address, read out by Pankaj Aggarwal, the Prime Minister described India’s current phase as a defining moment in its energy journey. He emphasised that collaboration between domestic and international players would be crucial in meeting the country’s long-term energy goals.
The summit aimed to bring together stakeholders from across the energy ecosystem, including government bodies, private sector participants and global investors.
