India’s dramatic five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final drew widespread praise from BJP leaders, who hailed the win not only as a sporting achievement but also as a symbolic assertion of national pride.

Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi described the triumph as a “fitting response” to Pakistan, which he accused of supporting terrorism. “Our players not only excelled on the field but also sent a powerful message to a nation backing terrorism. Today, India has shown it will not tolerate such acts while maintaining relations,” Naqvi said following the final at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

In the high-octane final, Pakistan started strongly, reaching 113/1 in 12.4 overs, before collapsing dramatically. Kuldeep Yadav’s 4/30 helped bowl Pakistan out for 146 in 19.1 overs. India chased the target with Tilak Varma scoring an unbeaten 69 and Shivam Dube delivering crucial late runs, sealing the win with two balls remaining and clinching the country’s ninth Asia Cup title.

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma said the team had upheld India’s honour on the international stage. “An Indian fights for the nation’s unity and integrity, whether on the battlefield or the cricket pitch. We have defeated Pakistan not just once, but hundreds of times,” he said.

Sharma also applauded the Indian team’s decision to refuse the Asia Cup trophy and medals from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, who also heads the Pakistan Cricket Board. “We stand for India’s pride, not awards. This victory reflects our dedication to the nation,” he added.

MLA Ratnakar Mishra extended his congratulations to the team and citizens, saying, “Heartfelt wishes to the Indian players for their win over Pakistan.”

The strong reactions from BJP leaders mirror the broader national sentiment, viewing India’s unbeaten Asia Cup campaign as a demonstration of skill, strategy, and symbolic defiance. The victory is being celebrated not just as a cricketing milestone but as an assertion of national strength and pride in multiple arenas, from sports to diplomacy.
