Heavy Rain, Thunderstorm & Sea Swell Alert for Nicobar

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 11:
The India Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for the Nicobar Islands, forecasting heavy rainfall ranging from 07 to 11 cm at isolated places on May 13 and 14. Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds (30-40 kmph) and lightning are also likely during this period and on May 15.

Additionally, swell waves with a period of 16.0 to 21.0 seconds and a height of 1.1 to 1.3 meters have been predicted until 11:30 pm on May 12. Authorities have advised boat operators to exercise extreme caution and recreational activities at sea to be conducted with due care.
