Power Supply to Remain Suspended in Garacharma Areas for Infrastructure Upgrade

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 20 : Electricity supply across several areas under the Garacharma feeder will remain disrupted on June 20 as the Electricity Department undertakes infrastructure improvement works, including the replacement of a damaged RCC high-tension pole and shifting of high-tension and low-tension lines for the installation of a new transformer.

According to the Electricity Department, the Garacharma feeder will remain under isolation from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on June 20 to facilitate the scheduled maintenance and installation activities at Agency House, Shivaji Colony, Garacharma.

As a result of the feeder shutdown, power supply will be affected in several localities connected to the Garacharma feeder. Areas likely to experience interruption include Laxmi Motor, Shivaji Colony, TR Housing, MR Housing, Garacharma Basti, Garacharma Hospital, Kali Mandir, TTI Road, Pump House, Murda Khadi, IMFC and the entire area served by the Garacharma feeder.

The planned shutdown forms part of the department’s efforts to carry out essential infrastructure work aimed at strengthening the power distribution network in the area. The replacement of the damaged RCC high-tension pole and associated line-shifting work is required for the installation of the new transformer, which is being undertaken at the designated site in Garacharma.

Officials have advised consumers and government departments served by the feeder to make necessary arrangements in view of the scheduled interruption. The department stated that the duration of the shutdown is tentative and may vary depending on prevailing weather conditions during the execution of the work.

Residents and consumers seeking additional information regarding the maintenance work or power supply status have been advised to refer to the Electricity Department’s official website for updates.

The department has also informed consumers that complaints related to electricity supply can be registered through its toll-free helpline. Authorities said the temporary disruption is necessary to facilitate the safe completion of the scheduled infrastructure work and ensure the reliability of the distribution system in the affected areas.

The maintenance and installation activities are expected to be completed within the notified period, subject to operational and weather-related conditions.
