Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Do you commission external articles, and do you pay for them?

Yes, we do commission external articles. These may include news reports, opinion pieces, and feature stories. If you have a story idea or a pitch, please write to us at editor@thewaveandaman.com. If the submission aligns with our editorial guidelines and areas of focus, we will get in touch. Payment varies on a case-by-case basis, but we aim to follow a fair and consistent structure.

What is The Wave Andaman’s whistleblower policy? How is the identity of the whistleblower protected?

We welcome anonymous tips and confidential information. You can email such information to editor@thewaveandaman.com. All submissions are reviewed by senior editors, and any claims or allegations are independently verified before any decision is made regarding publication.

Regardless of whether the story is published, we do not reveal the identity of the source under any circumstances. In the case of anonymous submissions, we do not attempt to trace or identify the sender.

How does The Wave Andaman generate revenue? Can I contribute to support independent journalism?

Our primary source of revenue is advertising, which includes both static and video formats. In addition, we are planning to organize on-ground and digital events aimed at fostering public discourse and promoting critical thinking in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

We also have a sponsored content division that allows businesses and individuals to feature their stories. All sponsored content is clearly marked with a disclaimer stating that it does not reflect the editorial views of The Wave Andaman and is subject to an internal review for quality and relevance.

We are a for-profit entity. While we welcome financial contributions in support of independent journalism, please note that such contributions are not eligible for tax exemptions and may be subject to applicable taxes. Your support, however, goes a long way in sustaining our editorial efforts.
