Free Prosthetic And Orthotic Camp Commences In Brookshabad

Sri Vijaya Puram: A five-day Free Prosthetic and Orthotic Camp, jointly organised by the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Rotary Club Vijaya Puram, and Mahaveer Seva Sadan, kicked off today at the CRC campus in Brookshabad. The camp aims to provide free artificial limbs and mobility aids to persons with disabilities from across the A&N Islands.

Led by Gautam Roy, Chief Prosthetist of Mahaveer Seva Sadan, a specialist team from Kolkata is providing customised fittings and consultations for over 50 registered beneficiaries. Services include fittings for upper and lower limb prosthetics, calipers, and aids for conditions like cerebral palsy, polio, and stroke.

Sumithamol S (Director, CRC), Sagar Khurrana (Rotary Club President), and other dignitaries were present during the inauguration. The prosthetic devices will be distributed on April 14 at the camp’s valedictory function. Registration is open until April 13.
