Enemy Property Eviction Begins: Triple-Storied Encroachment Razed in Sri Vijaya Puram

Sri Vijaya Puram | April 15

In a rare and landmark enforcement of the Enemy Property Act, the South Andaman District Administration on Monday dismantled a triple-storied structure illegally occupying government-designated enemy property at Aberdeen Bazaar village in Sri Vijaya Puram ( Port Blair) .

The eviction drive, the first of its kind in the area, was carried out in a coordinated operation involving revenue officials, police personnel, and other authorities. The structure, which had come up on land identified and verified under the Enemy Property category, was brought down after due legal process.

Officials confirmed that the action forms part of a larger crackdown on encroachments and unauthorized occupation of government assets. The District Administration reiterated that any form of land grabbing or misuse of public property will be met with strict legal action.

To support public involvement, the administration has provided helplines and a WhatsApp number (9531888844) for citizens to confidentially report land encroachments and construction violations. Officials assured that all reports will be handled with full anonymity.
