Sri Vijaya Puram, August 13: Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Sri Vijaya Puram will provide extensive live coverage of the 80th Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2026, including the national ceremony from the Red Fort in New Delhi and the State-level function at Netaji Stadium, while also broadcasting the President’s address to the nation on the eve of Independence Day.
The national Independence Day celebrations from the ramparts of the Red Fort will be telecast live on DDK Sri Vijaya Puram from 6.25 a.m. on August 15 until the conclusion of the programme. Simultaneously, the live coverage will also be streamed through the Doordarshan Kendra Sri Vijaya Puram YouTube channel, @ddksrivijayapuram.
The State-level Independence Day function from Netaji Stadium will also be streamed live through the same YouTube channel from 8.50 a.m. on August 15 until the ceremony concludes. Dinesh Kumar Singh and Puja Paramanik will provide commentary during the live broadcast.
In addition to the live telecasts, DDK Sri Vijaya Puram has scheduled a special Independence Day transmission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 15.
Following the special transmission, the Prime Minister’s address delivered from the Red Fort will be re-telecast from 8 p.m. until the end of the programme. The address will also be re-telecast on August 16 from 8 a.m. until its conclusion.
On the eve of Independence Day, August 14, DDK Sri Vijaya Puram will telecast the President of India’s address to the nation from 7 p.m. onwards. The address will first be broadcast in Hindi, followed by the English version.
The scheduled telecasts and live streaming will enable viewers across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to watch the national and State-level Independence Day ceremonies, official addresses and special programming through television and digital platforms.
