New Delhi, Oct 17: The Congress has appointed 208 party leaders as observers to monitor its nationwide ‘Vote Bachao – Desh Bachao’ campaign, assigning them to clusters of districts as the party seeks to strengthen organisational coordination and booth-level mobilisation ahead of key political contests.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge approved the appointments, which take effect immediately, according to a statement issued by party general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal. The observers will supervise campaign activities across different parts of the country and coordinate with state units on implementation.

The observers are expected to work with state party units to coordinate campaign messaging, increase mobilisation at the booth level and identify organisational gaps. The appointments come as the Congress intensifies the campaign, which carries the message ‘Vote Bachao – Desh Bachao’. The party’s stated organisational objectives include expanding its outreach and improving the implementation of campaign activities across the country.

The scale of the deployment signals a nationwide organisational exercise, with 208 leaders assigned oversight responsibilities across district clusters.
