The Andaman and Nicobar Administration has announced the designation of several departments as “Nodal Departments” to conduct the Common Graduate Level Recruitment–2025. The recruitment process, aimed at filling vacancies across multiple government departments, will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
According to an order issued by the Chief Secretary, the recruitment examinations will be centrally managed through the Recruitment & Examination (R&E) Cell of the Administration. A common recruitment notice or advertisement will be published on the official recruitment portal erecruitment.andaman.gov.in. The CBT will be conducted in online mode by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) with technical and logistical assistance from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT).
The order specifies that nodal departments will handle candidate details and applications, either independently or in coordination with the concerned indenting departments. Each nodal department has been tasked with conducting CBT examinations for posts under its purview.
The Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) will oversee the recruitment for Junior Engineer (Civil) with 64 vacancies and Planning Assistant with 1 vacancy. The District Industries Centre will fill one post of Industrial Promotion Officer (Chemical). The Andaman Aadim Janjati Vikas Samiti (AAJVS) has been assigned the post of Tribal Welfare Officer (1 vacancy), while the Directorate of Fisheries will conduct recruitment for Fisheries Development Officer (3 vacancies).
In the local bodies category, the Directorate of RD, PRIs & Urban Local Bodies will supervise examinations for Panchayat Secretary (13 vacancies), Extension Officer (4 vacancies), and Junior Assistant (28 vacancies), among others, including posts of Accountant, Civil Supply Inspector, Receptionist, and Sub-Inspector of Cooperative Society.

The Directorate of Social Welfare will fill three posts of Mukhya Sevika, while the Directorate of Transport will conduct CBT for positions including Junior Engineer (2 vacancies), Chargeman (2 vacancies), and Chief Inspector (5 vacancies), in addition to roles like Assistant Employment Officer and Economical Investigator.
The Electricity Department has 33 vacancies for Junior Engineer posts and two for Upper Division Clerk, making it one of the departments with the highest intake. Meanwhile, Environment & Forest, JNRM, and the Directorate of Shipping Service together account for posts like Junior Engineer (E&M), Foreman, Marine Foreman, Mechanical Extraction Charge Hand, and Laboratory Assistants.
Other departments included are the Office of Labour Commissioner & DET, which will recruit Labour Inspector and Vocational Instructors, the Food Safety Office with posts such as Food Safety Officer, Lab Incharge, and Food Inspector, and the Official Language Department, which will hire Junior Translation Officers.
Across all nodal departments, the recruitment exercise covers more than 160 vacancies in technical, administrative, and welfare-related posts. The qualifications required vary by post, ranging from graduate degrees in diverse fields such as engineering, commerce, law, psychology, sociology, economics, anthropology, and food technology, to specialized diplomas and vocational training.
By consolidating the recruitment process under a centralized, computer-based testing system, the Administration aims to bring transparency, uniformity, and efficiency to government hiring in the islands.
