Coast Guard Schedules 22 May Live-Fire Drill at Chinthe Long

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, 16 May:  The Indian Coast Guard will conduct live-fire exercises at Chinthe Long firing range on Wednesday, 22 May, between 0930 hrs and 1700 hrs. Authorities have warned residents, livestock owners and fishermen to keep well clear of the designated safety perimeter throughout the session. Routine notices precede such drills, but officials reiterate that ricochet risk and blast overpressure make proximity dangerous even outside direct line of fire. Range sentries will patrol approach tracks, and warning flags will remain hoisted until firing ceases. Any infringement could trigger legal penalties under defence safety regulations.
