Sri Vijaya Puram, October 9: Private candidates from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands seeking to appear for the Central Board of Secondary Education’s Class X and Class XII examinations in 2026 must submit their application forms online by October 23 to avoid a late fee, with the Board opening the registration process for eligible candidates.
The CBSE, New Delhi, has begun accepting applications for the Secondary School Examination (Class X) and Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII), scheduled for February, March and April 2026 alongside the Board’s main examinations.
The application window covers several categories, including students from the 2025-26 session declared Essential Repeat in the 2026 examination, as well as those placed in the compartment category in the main or supplementary examinations of 2026. The latter includes candidates appearing under the second-chance compartment category.

Students declared failed or Essential Repeat in examinations held in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 are also eligible to apply. Candidates who passed in the 2025-26 session can submit forms if they wish to improve their performance in one or more subjects.
Applicants must use the CBSE’s “Vyaktigat Pariksharthi” portal to complete the online process. The application facility is available at https://cbse.gov.in/newsite/private/index.html.
The Board has specified that examinations for these categories will follow the syllabus prescribed for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates can consult the curriculum at https://cbseacademic.nic.in/curriculum_2027.html before applying.
Private candidates in the islands have been advised to read the instructions available on the CBSE website carefully and keep the required documents ready before beginning the application process. Checking the eligibility conditions and examination guidelines in advance will help applicants complete their submissions in accordance with the Board’s requirements.
