New Delhi, May 13, 2025:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the much-anticipated Class 10 and Class 12 results for the year 2025, offering clarity and closure to more than 42 lakh students and their families across the country. The announcement came in two waves, Class 12 results were released first at around 11:30 AM, followed by the Class 10 results, which were made public at 1:00 PM. The exams for Class 10 were conducted between February 15 and March 18, while Class 12 students wrote their papers between February 15 and April 4.

This year’s overall pass percentage stood at an impressive 94.82% for Class 10 and 88.39% for Class 12, reflecting a steady performance trend and improved outcomes despite a longer academic calendar. In Class 10, nearly 2 lakh students scored above 90%, while over 45,000 students in Class 12 secured more than 95%, underlining a broad spectrum of academic excellence. However, CBSE maintained its policy of not announcing merit lists or official toppers to discourage unhealthy competition.

Students can access their mark sheets through multiple official portals. The primary websites include results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, and cbseresults.nic.in. Besides these, students can also download their digital documents through results.digilocker.gov.in and the UMANG app, both of which are integrated with CBSE’s digital records system. DigiLocker and UMANG provide authenticated mark sheets and pass certificates, which are valid for official use in college admissions and job applications.

To check their results online, students must enter their roll number, school number, admit card ID, date of birth, and a security pin displayed on the screen. Once the details are verified, the result will appear, and students can download their scorecards for future reference. It’s crucial for students to keep their admit cards handy while logging in, as all these credentials are printed on them. CBSE has also enabled IVRS-based result access and SMS alerts for students in low-bandwidth regions.

This year, CBSE introduced a relative grading system to ease pressure on students and shift the focus towards broader learning outcomes. In addition, the grievance redressal mechanism has been updated, students must first request a scanned copy of their evaluated answer script before applying for re-evaluation or verification of marks. This procedural change is aimed at enhancing transparency and reducing unnecessary re-evaluation requests.

For digital mark sheet access via DigiLocker, students are required to activate their accounts using a six-digit access code issued by their schools. After verifying their mobile number through an OTP, they can navigate to the “Issued Documents” section to download their Class 10 or Class 12 certificate and mark sheet. Those facing issues can seek help from their schools or the nearest CBSE regional office.

The CBSE’s streamlined result declaration process and multi-platform accessibility ensure that students across urban and rural pockets receive their results promptly and securely. As lakhs of students now begin preparing for the next academic or professional phase, be it college admissions, competitive exams, or vocational paths, the 2025 results mark the culmination of months of preparation, stress, and resilience. With mark sheets now live on both official websites and DigiLocker, students and parents are advised to verify details carefully and contact CBSE officials in case of discrepancies.

For real-time updates and direct access to results, students are encouraged to rely solely on official sources such as cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.in. Congratulations to all students for their efforts, and best wishes for the journey ahead.
