Police Barricade on a road

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 9: The Andaman & Nicobar Traffic Police has officially launched the e-Challan system to enhance enforcement of traffic rules and bring greater efficiency and transparency to the process.

The Lt. Governor Admiral  D.K. Joshi inaugurated the system today during a brief ceremony at Raj Niwas. Later in the afternoon, during a press conference, the Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District, Manoj Kumar Meena, shared key details of the initiative. He stated that the e-Challan system is aimed at strengthening road safety measures by ensuring a more efficient and transparent method of penalizing traffic violations.

The system is designed to simplify processes for both motorists and traffic personnel. No cash transactions will be involved; instead, violators can pay fines instantly through digital modes such as UPI, QR code scanning, or card payments using Point-of-Sale (POS) devices. The payments will be directly credited to the A&N Traffic Police account.

For motorists, the system offers a convenient and hassle-free method to pay fines without the need to visit traffic police stations or wait in queues. For traffic personnel, it reduces manual paperwork, minimizes errors, and saves time in issuing and processing challans.

The e-Challan system will be operated via the Parivahan and Bharat Kosh portals. It enables real-time issuance of challans and immediate payment collection on the spot, fully digitalizing the process.
