Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 25: Community-level awareness on Ayurveda, preventive healthcare and healthy living took centre stage at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Rangat, where the 11th Ayurveda Day was observed with a programme involving frontline health workers and staff.
The programme began with the Ayurveda Day Pledge, with participants committing themselves to adopting and promoting Ayurveda and healthy lifestyle practices aimed at better health and well-being.
Dr. Huma Quiser, Medical Officer (Ayurveda), CHC Rangat, subsequently conducted a presentation titled “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow” for ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and health staff. The session focused on the relevance of Ayurveda in daily life and addressed dietary and lifestyle practices that can support healthier living.
The presentation also covered preventive health and the role of frontline workers in taking health-related awareness to communities. The participation of ASHA and Anganwadi workers placed emphasis on community-level dissemination of information and practices discussed during the programme.
The event formed part of the week-long Ayurveda Day celebrations, which included a range of activities aimed at health awareness and public participation. These included health and awareness camps, drawing and poster competitions, and community awareness activities.
Certificates and mementos were presented to participants and winners of the competitions in recognition of their involvement and efforts during the celebrations.
According to a press release issued by CHC Rangat, the programme brought together healthcare personnel and frontline workers as part of the observance, with activities covering awareness, preventive health and community engagement.
