ANIIMS Goes Digital With Official Facebook, Instagram and X Accounts for Public Outreach

Date:

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 7: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Sri Vijaya Puram, has launched its official presence on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) in an effort to strengthen communication with the public and improve access to information on its healthcare, academic and research activities. The initiative is aimed at providing timely updates on institutional developments while expanding public outreach through digital platforms.

According to ANIIMS, the official social media platforms will be used to disseminate information on healthcare services, academic programmes, research initiatives and public health awareness campaigns undertaken by the institute. The move is intended to enhance transparency, improve accessibility of information and establish a direct channel of communication between the institute and the community.

The institute said the platforms will also carry important announcements, health advisories, health talks delivered by specialists, highlights of institutional events and updates on the achievements of its faculty, staff and students. In addition to sharing institutional developments, the platforms are expected to serve as a medium for promoting health education and increasing public awareness on health-related issues among residents of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Speaking on the launch, Director of ANIIMS, Prof. Dr. Mukesh Tripathi, said the introduction of the institute’s official social media pages marks an important step towards bridging the gap between the institution and the public. He said the initiative is intended to foster greater awareness of ANIIMS’ activities while encouraging wider public participation in healthcare initiatives.

The institute has launched its official Instagram and X handles under the username @aniimsmedia, while its official Facebook page has also been made operational. ANIIMS has encouraged members of the public to follow its verified social media platforms by scanning the QR codes provided by the institute to receive regular updates on healthcare services, institutional activities, research initiatives, academic programmes and public health campaigns.

With the launch of its official digital platforms, ANIIMS aims to strengthen engagement with the community by making verified institutional information more accessible and ensuring that important healthcare updates and public health messages reach a wider audience across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
