Helpline Numbers Issued Across Andamans to Report Water Supply Issues

Residents across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been advised to report water supply issues and pipeline leakages through designated helpline numbers released for different regions and divisions of the archipelago.

The information has been issued to help the public communicate water-related grievances directly to the concerned engineering divisions responsible for maintaining the supply network. Officials indicated that the contact numbers will enable quicker reporting of issues such as pipeline leaks, supply disruptions and other water-related problems affecting households and communities.

Authorities indicated that the helpline system is intended to ensure that complaints regarding water supply infrastructure are addressed promptly by the responsible engineering divisions. Timely reporting of leakages and supply interruptions is considered important for maintaining the efficiency of the water distribution system and preventing wastage.

In addition to the helpline numbers, members of the public have also been given the option to report issues through email. Complaints can be sent to the Chief Engineer, APWD at pgoapwd45@gmail.com.

A separate email address has also been provided specifically for water supply grievance management: watercomplaint.apwd@gmail.com.

Officials noted that public participation plays an important role in maintaining infrastructure services such as water supply. Prompt reporting of leaks or disruptions helps authorities take corrective measures and minimise potential damage or wastage of water.

Residents have therefore been encouraged to make use of the designated contact channels whenever they encounter water supply problems in their respective areas. The administration expects that the availability of region-wise helpline numbers will help improve communication between the public and maintenance authorities while ensuring faster resolution of complaints related to water distribution systems across the islands.
